He is responsible for executing the engineering
and framing plans and is responsible for overseeing all
of the finish details… exterior and interior. Kevin is
usually on the phone or meeting with Paul McGrath a
couple of times a day to refine details.
The right fit
In as much as potential clients search out a design build firm that fits their desires, Essex needs to feel that these potential clients fit our criteria. Even simpler projects require hundreds of individual decisions. A successful project necessitates a close working relationship. The compatibility of personalities and expectations is pretty important.
Our style and approach
We feel one of our most important
strengths is to listen. We do truly try to include as
much of the wish list as is possible. Our best designs
are a direct result of clients that are very involved.
We develop concepts and designs considering function first…,
then cost …, then aesthetics … In that orders … We treat
each project as if it were our own. Our designs are ergonomic,
not frivolous. We enjoy planning and building kitchens.
80% of our work includes kitchens. We like built ins,
and the look of cabinets, mouldings and casings that are
all finished as one. We like understated details. First
impressions are very important and are from the exterior.
Integration with the outdoors is a critical design consideration
that allows the architecture and interior design of the
structure to connect to the landscape.
